Olympique Marseille will be aiming to overtake Lens in second place when they take on Angers in the Ligue 1 round 35. OM failed to impress in a 2-1 loss to Lens, but the fact that they defeated both Troyes and Auxerre in the previous two home games is giving fans a reason for optimism ahead of Sunday’s clash. Leonardo Balerdi is likely to replace Samuel Gigot in the starting XI, while Azzedine Ounahi remains on the sidelines with a broken toe. Dimitri Payet is pushing for a start as well.
Les Scoistes, on the other hand, failed to secure the Ligue 1 survival and given their four-match losing run in the French top flight, anything but a routine home win would be a big sensation. Angers’ injury list is pretty long and, to make things even worse for them, defender Cedric Hountondji is banned for the match.
