Our prediction for this Primera Division match:
There will be fireworks when Almeria and Valladolid face each other in the relegation six-pointer on Sunday evening. Almeria continue with their old habit of producing fine displays at home ground, while struggling on the travels and you should bear in mind that they won three of their last four home fixtures in the Spanish top flight. Centre-forward is banned for the match following his sending-off in a 1-0 loss to Real Sociedad, while all Leo Baptistao, Kaiky Melo, and Martin Svidersky remain on the sidelines with injuries.
La Pucela, on the other hand, did well to shock champions Barcelona at the weekend, with the team keeping their survival hopes alive. Real Valladolid, though, are not regarded as good travellers, which is probably the main reason why home win should be considered. All Jawad El Yamiq, Luis Perez, Selim Amallah, and Anuar are out of contention through injuries for the away team.
Highlighted Player (Gonzalo Melero):
Gonzalo Melero is a Spanish footballer born in Madrid on January 2, 1994. Melero’s main position is attacking midfielder, but he plays as a central midfielder as well. The Spaniard started his youth career at Zona Norte and in the summer of 2004 he was spotted by Real Madrid scouts. Melero did not hesitate and he joined the famous Spanish club.
In the 2013/2014 season the 183-cm-tall midfielder played for Real Madrid C, scoring 7 goals in 37 appearances for the team in the process. The following season he played for Real Madrid B, but he made no more than 6 appearances for Castilla in Segunda Division. In 2015 he decided to change the club, signing a two-and-a-half-year contract with fellow Segunda Division side Ponferrardina.
Despite establishing himself as a first-team regular with la Ponfe, Gonzalo Melero joined Huesca on July 27, 2016. The Spanish midfielder impressed in the 2017/2018 season with Leo Franco’s troops, scoring 16 goals in 38 appearances in the process.
Highlighted Team (Valladolid):
Real Valladolid is a Spanish club based in Valladolid, the part of the autonomous community of Castille and Leon. Founded in 1928, Real Valladolid play their home matches at Jose Zorilla, the venue that has the capacity 26,512. Speaking of their European records, Real Valladolid participated in the 1989/1990 UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup quarter-finals.
La Pucela are well known for their purple and white shirts, but they are known for some top-class footballers as well. The likes of Diego Costa, Cuauhtemoc Blanco, Borja Fernandez, Rene Higuita, Luis Garcia and Aritz Aduriz played for Real Valladolid in the past.
