Our prediction for this Netherlands Eredivisie match:
Almere City and Twente square off against each other at Yanmar Stadion in what will be their first meeting in a competitive match since January 2019. Back then Twente defeated Almere City 3-1 in the Eerste Divisie and the visitors surely want history to repeat itself. A man to watch in the away team will be Costa Rica forward Manfred Ugalde, who scored nine goals in the national championship last term, while there are no fresh injury worries in the away team.
The newcomers, on the other hand, were scoring goals for fun in preseason. Considering that Almere are likely to stick to their attacking style of play, we are tempted to put our money on over 2.5 goals. Summer signing Sherel Floranus is likely to make his Eredivisie debut against Twente as well as fellow new recruit Thomas Robinet, who joined the club from Nancy.
Highlighted Team (Twente):
Based in the city of Enschede, Twente is a Dutch football club that welcomes their rivals at De Grolsch Veste. The venue was opened on May 10, 1998, and the capacity of the stadium is 30,205 people. The club was founded in 1965 as a merger of Sportsclub Enschede and Enschedese Boys.
The Reds did remarkably well to win the Eredivisie title in the 2009/10 season, with the team finishing the process only one point clear of Dutch giants Ajax. As a result, Twente booked their place in the Champions League group stages. The Reds did well to collect six points in their group, but that did not help them make it to the last 16.
Twente are well known for their red jerseys, but they wear dark blue shirts when playing on the travels. The Reds take on Heracles Almelo in the Twentse Derby. Sander Boshchker is leading Twente’s all-time goal-scoring chart with 653 goals on his account.
