Our prediction for this Bundesliga match:
The Bundesliga's second round will draw to a close with the Bavarian derby on Sunday, featuring Bayern Munich and Augsburg. The reigning champions made a flying start to the season, with the team crushing Werder Bremen 4-0 on Harry Kane’s debut. The England superstar is expected to make an immediate impact and, no doubt, all eyes will be on the former Spurs ace when Bayern face Augsburg in the local derby. Even though all Bouna Sarr, Serge Gnabry, Raphael Guerreiro, Gabriel Marusic, and goalkeeper Manuel Neuer are sidelined with injuries, home win should be considered as Thomas Tuchel has a number of top-class players to choose from.
Augsburg, on the other hand, showed weakness at the back in a 4-4 draw with Borussia M’gladbach and seeing that Bayern Munich are a real force to be reckoned with at home, the visitors are unlikely to make a miracle at Allianz Arena. Robert Gumny is banned for the visitors, while all Cordona, Maier, Oxford, Okugawa, Veiga, and Framberger remain in the recovery room.
Highlighted Player (Harry Kane):
Widely regarded as one of England’s best strikers at the moment, Harry Kane enjoyed a meteoric rise at Tottenham Hotspur, scoring 21 Premier League goals during the 2014/2015 campaign to be voted PFA Young Player of the Year.
The highly rated striker went on to surpass that achievement the following season as he helped Tottenham Hotspur mount a serious title challenge for the first time in club’s recent history and he made seamless transition to international football. Kane scored four goals in his first ten appearances for England to prove he was here to stay and at the same time established himself as a first choice striker in Roy Hodgson’s squad ahead of the Euro 2016 finals.
Kane is a modern striker, who is extremely dangerous in the opposition box, but it was some outstanding goals from distance as well as link-up play with teammates that earned him an excellent reputation in world football. Kane is expected to lead both Tottenham and England in years to come, that is if he can resist the lure of top European clubs that continue to cast admiring glances his way.
Highlighted Team (Augsburg):
Augsburg are a German football club founded in Augsburg, Bavaria back in 1907. Die Fuggerstadter play in German Bundesliga and with 12,200 members they are regarded as the largest football club in Bavaria. Augsburg wear white shirts and they host their rivals at WWK ARENA.
The capacity of the stadium is 30,660 and it has been the home of Augsburg since 2009. Augsburg won the Schwaben Cup 13 times and it has to be noted that they were promoted to the Bundesliga for the first time in 2011.
The club qualified for the Europa League 2015/2016 group stages and thanks to a 3-1 win over Partizan in Belgrade they booked their place in the last 32. However, Liverpool proved to be a big catch for the German outfit in the Europa League knockout stages.
Die Fuggerstadter’s main rivals are TSV 1860 Munich and there have always been fireworks when the two teams take on each other.
