Saturday’s football game at Stamford Bridge pits together Chelsea and Nottingham Forest, the two teams with entirely different ambitions for the 2023/2024 Premier League season. The Blues quickly bounced back from a heart-breaking loss to West Ham, with the team outplaying newcomers Luton 3-0 at the weekend and, no doubt, they are high on confidence ahead of the visit of Forest. Barring any fresh injury worries, Mauricio Pochettino is unlikely to make changes to the team that defeated the Hatters. All Fofana, Nkunku, James, Mudryk, and Chalobah are sidelined with injuries.
The Reds, on the other hand, failed to spoil Manchester United’s party at Old Trafford and they face yet another uphill task against Chelsea. Nottingham Forest are not regarded as good travellers and they are unlikely to grab something from Saturday’s encounter. Joe Worrall misses out through suspension, while Shelvey, Mckenna, Monteiro, Biancone, and Richards are sidelined with injuries.

Having largely contributed to Rossonerri’s title winning campaign in 2010-11, Thiago Silva moved to Paris Saint-Germain together with Zlatan Ibrahimovic for a reported fee worth €42 million, which made him then second-most expensive defender in football history after Rio Ferdinand.
Silva was an immediate success at the French club, helping Les Parisiens win four consecutive Ligue 1 titles in the process. Heavily linked with a move away from Parc des Princes, fan favourite Thiago Silva remains a key figure at Paris Saint-Germain and a leader of the new wave under head coach Unai Emery. Having already surpassed the 100-game mark for the French giants, Thiago Silva is slowly writing his name in the history books of Paris Saint-Germain.

Nottingham Forest, the club that are often referred to as Forest, were formed in 1865. They have been playing their home games at the City Ground since 1898 and the capacity of the stadium is 30,445. Nottingham Forest are regarded as one of the greatest English clubs as they won the European Cup on two occasions. In 1979 Forest outplayed Malmo (1-0) at the Olympiastadion in Munich in the final of the elite competition, with the team beating Hamburg in 1980 in the title game at Estadio Santiago Bernabeu (1-0).
Nottingham Forest won the national championship in the 1977/1978 season, with the team finishing the campaign seven points clear of second-placed Liverpool. To make things even better for the fans, the City Ground outfit clinched the FA Cup trophies in 1898 and 1959. Derby County are regarded as Forest’s bitterest rivals and the two local rivals contest in the East Midlands derby. In their first ever meeting in the local derby Forest recorded a 3-2 win over Derby County.
