After failing to spoil Sporting’s party in Lisbon, Famalicao will look to return to winning ways in the Primeira Liga when they face Farense on Saturday evening. Joao Pedro Sousa’s troops are eyeing their first home win of the season and we predict that they will adopt an attack-oriented strategy against Farense. Theo Fonseca remains on the sidelines with an ACL problem, but there are no fresh injury worries in the home team.
Os Leoes de Faro, on the other hand, rolled over Chaves 5-0 at the weekend and, no doubt, the triumph gave them a confidence boost. Farense, though, are not regarded as good travellers and we do not believe that they are capable of collecting more than one point from the match. Famalicao welcome their rivals at Estadio Municipal 22 de Junho Vila Nova de Famalicao, the venue with the capacity of 5,307 people. The stadium was opened in 1952 and ever since has been serving as the team’s home ground. Famalicao are owned by Quantum Pacific Group, the company which has a 32% share of famous La Liga side Atletico Madrid as well.
