Our prediction for this League 2 match:
Colchester will look to build on a 2-0 win over Tranmere when they face Mansfield in the League Two round 8. The U’s are eyeing their only third win of the season and, no doubt, the weekend triumph gave them a confidence boost. Talented forward Bradley Ihionvein is pushing for a rare start after scoring off the bench in the last league match.
Meanwhile, the Yellows outplayed Accrington 3-0 on Matchday 7, with the team climbing to automatic promotion berth. Mansfield are more of a team than Colchester and given their three-game winning run against the U’s, away triumph should be considered. Barring any fresh injury worries, experienced tactician Nigel Clough is unlikely to make changes to the team that outclassed Accrington at the weekend. In their last encounter in the English fourth tier Mansfield Town defeated Colchester United 2-0.
