Our prediction for this League 1 match:
Following a 1-1 draw with Carlisle, Peterborough will look to return to winning ways in the League One when they take on Lincoln on Matchday 12. The Posh aim to stay in the playoffs berth and we are positive that they will adopt an attack-oriented approach against Lincoln. There are no fresh injury worries in the home team. The Imps, on the other hand, aim to build on a 2-0 win over Cheltenham as their game against Leyton on Tuesday evening was abandoned.
Lincoln, though, are not regarded as good travellers and that is the main reason why we are going to bet on Peterborough this time out. Lasse Sorensen limped off with injury in the midweek clash, with Jack Burroughs likely to step up. In their last encounter in the English third tier Peterborough outplayed Lincoln 3-0, which definitely suits our prediction.
Highlighted Player (Teddy Bishop):
Having joined Ipswich as an eight-year-old, Teddy Bishop rose through the ranks at Portman Road to become one of the key players for the Tractor Boys. Bishop’s road to prominence hit a serious roadblock in his first year of the academy scholarship when he endured a serious back injury, but it was in 2014 that he went from strength to strength – proving his worth at the club and emerging as one of the most promising players in the squad.
The total of 36 appearances in his debut season with the first team were more than enough to make an impression on the fans and the club hierarchy which offered him a new long-term deal.
This deep-lying midfielder in characterized by impressive passing accuracy, vision and great reading of the play. Bishop is an asset defensively as well, but he is most comfortable sitting just above the back line, spraying balls around. As a two-footed midfielder, Teddy Bishop is regularly being watched by a number of Premier League biggest clubs.
Highlighted Team (Peterborough):
Founded in 1934, Peterborough United are a professional club that competes in the League One. The Posh play their home games at London Road Stadium, the venue with the capacity of 15,314. Peterborough’s home colour is blue, whilst the colour of their away kit is blue. The Posh have the third kit as well where yellow and black are the dominant colours.
Peterborough United’s biggest success came in the 1964/1965 when the club booked their place in the FA Cup quarter-finals. Chelsea, though, proved to be a big catch for the Posh, beating them 5-1 in London. It has to be noted that Peterborough United made it to the Football League Cup semis in the 1965/1966 season, with the team losing to WBA in the two-legged tie.
The likes of Cambridge United and Northampton Town are considered the club’s main rivals. The Posh have built a rivalry with Huddersfield Town, with fans seeing MK Dons as rivals as well.
