Sunday’s matinee at MAC³PARK Stadion pits together Zwolle and Feyenoord, the two teams with entirely different ambitions for the 2023/2024 Eredivisie campaign. Zwolle aim to make amends for back-to-back defeats to AZ Alkmaar and Heracles, but they will have a mountain to climb against the reigning champions. There are no fresh injury concerns in the home team, but both Samir Lagsir and Ryan Thomas remain doubtful.
The Rotterdammers, on the other hand, produced a fine display in the Champions League defeat to Atletico Madrid and given their fine form in the Dutch top flight, anything but a routine away win would be a big surprise. The good news for the visitors is that Mexico striker Santiago Gimenez is back to the starting XI after serving his Champions League ban. In their last encounter at the venue Feyenoord recorded a 2-1 win over Zwolle.

Born in Jirandeh, Iran on August 11 1990, Alireza Jahanbakhsh is a footballer who plays for AZ Alkmaar in Holland. Before AZ, Jahanbakhsh played for NEC in the Eredivisie, but he began his youth career at Payam Alborz Qazvin. Speaking of his senior debut, he made it with Damash Tehran in the 2010/2011 season.
In 2011 he moved to fellow Iranian club Damash Gilan and it has to be noted that he scored 10 goals in 44 appearances in the league for the club. The AZ Alkmaar winger, who is used as an attacking midfielder as well, scored 21 goals in 33 appearances in the Eredivisie in the 2017/2018 season. Speaking of his international career, Alireza JahanBakhsh scored two goals for Iran on the road to Russia and he will represent his homeland at the 2018 FIFA world cup finals.
Due to his style of play, Jahanbakhsh has always been compared to legendary Iranian footballer Mehdi Mahdavikia.

Founded on June 12, 1910, PEC Zwolle is a Dutch football club which competes in the Eredivisie. Zwolle have yet to win the national championship, but they did remarkably well to lift the Dutch Cup trophy in 2014. Ron Jans’s troops impressed in the title game, with the team rolling over Dutch giants Ajax 5-1.
