Metz
Monaco will be aiming to build on back-to-back wins over Olympique Marseille and Reims when they take on Metz in the Ligue 1 round 9. Les Rouges et Blancs have been scoring goals for fun of late and they are likely to stick to their attacking style of play. A man to watch in the home team will be experienced forward Wissam Ben Yedder, who has netted five goals in the new Ligue 1 campaign, while both Soungoutou Magassa and Denis Zakaria are banned for the match.
Les Grenats, on the other hand, do not seem to be at their sharpest, with the team losing each of their last three league fixtures. As Metz were struggling in front of goal before the international break, anything but a routine home win would be a big surprise. All Habib Maiga, Benjamin Tetteh, and Maxime Colin are out of contention through injuries.

Wissam Ben Yedder was born in Sarcelles, France on 12 August, 1990, but he has yet to make his France debut at senior level. The 170-cm-tall striker, though, played three games for France U21 team and he made two appearances for France Futsal team as well.
Ben Yedder began his club career at UJA Alfortville and he moved to Toulouse in 2010. After scoring 63 goals in 156 league appearances for les Pitchouns, the pacey attacker joined La Liga side Sevilla on 30 July, 2016. Wissam Ben Yedder made his Sevilla debut on 14 August, 2016 in a 2-0 loss to Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup. The former Toulouse forward scored his first goal in the Spanish top flight in Sevilla’s 6-4 win over Espanyol in the opening match of the 2016/2017 season.
Ben Yedder started his youth career at Garges-les-Gonesse and he played for the Saint-Denis at the start of his football career as well. You should bear in mind that Ben Yedder is Toulouse’s best scorer of the 21st century.

Thanks to amalgamation of two amateur clubs Metz were founded in 1932 and soon they became a professional team. Les Grenats are one of the oldest professional teams in France, but they have yet to win the Ligue 1 trophy. Metz finished the 1997/1998 season in second place in the standings and it has to be noted that they were level on points with champions Lens (worse goal difference).
However, les Grenats won Coupe de France on two occasions (1983/1984, 1987/1988), with the team beating Monaco and Sochaux respectively in the title games. Emmanuel Adebayor is considered one of the most famous players who whore Metz jersey and you should know that the Togolese attacker scored 15 goals in 44 appearances in the league for the club.
Metz play their home games at Stade Saint-Symphorien, the venue which was opened back in September, 1923. Les Grenats wear red shirts and white shorts when playing at home, whilst the colour of their away kits is white.
