Our prediction for this Championship match:
Following a 2-0 win at Birmingham City, Hull City will look to give fans yet another reason to celebrate when they take on Preston on Matchday 14. The Tigers have regained a much-needed confidence and a win over Preston could see them climb to the playoffs berth. There are no fresh injury worries in the home team ahead of Saturday’s clash.
The Lilywhites, on the other hand, aim to put an end to their six-game winless run in the Championship. The two teams seem to be evenly matched at the moment and, taking everything into account, we believe that there is a big value in betting on draw. It has to be noted that the two teams have shared the spoils in each of their last two meetings in the English second tier. As for the visiting side, all Alistair McCann, Andrew Hughes, Calvin Ramsay, and Emil Riis Jakobsen are out of contention with injuries.
Highlighted Player (Alan Browne):
Alan Browne is a Republic of Ireland international who plays for Preston North End as a central midfielder. Born in Cork on April 15, 1999, Browne began his youth career at Ringmahon Rangers, but he soon moved to his hometown club Cork City.
Despite being part of the Cork City senior team, he did not enjoy first-team football with the Rebel Army. On January 1, 2014 Alan Browne signed a deal with Preston North End in the League One and one year later he helped the Lilywhites beat Preston in the play-off final and secure promotion to the Championship.
The 179-cm-tall midfielder has established himself as a first-team regular at Preston and it has to be noted that he played for the Ireland national team in the past as well. Alan Browne made his Republic of Ireland debut on February 6, 2017 in a friendly game against Mexico.
Highlighted Team (Hull City):
Hull City are a professional football club that was founded back in 1904. The Tigers used to play their home games at Boothferry Park, but they moved to the KC Stadium in 2002. The stadium capacity is 24,450.
Hull impressed in the 2015/2016 Championship campaign and, as a result, they returned to the English Premier League. Hull City fans consider Leeds United their main rivals, but Sheffield United are regarded as Hull’s fierce rivals as well. Steve Bruce took over the reins at the club in 2012 and the experienced tactician helped the team book a place in the 2013/2014 FA Cup final, but Arsenal proved to be a big catch for the Tigers in the title decider.
Hull City finished the 2013/2014 Premier League campaign in 16th place in the standings to achieve their highest ever top flight finish. It has to be noted that Curtis Davies was named the team’s player of the year in the 2013/2014 season.
