Following a come-from-behind win over Gil Vicente, Sporting CP will look to give fans yet another reason to celebrate when they face Vitoria Guimaraes on Matchday 13. The Lions aim to retain top position in the standings, but beating Guimaraes on the road is easier said than done. A man to keep an eye on in the away team will be Viktor Gyokeres, who scored a brace against Os Galos, while both Ivan Fresneda and Daniel Braganca remain on the sidelines with injuries.
The hosts, on the other hand, did well to beat Farense in their last league match, with the team climbing to 5th place in the standings. After ending his spell with English club Sunderland, the Uruguay international moved to Portugal, signing a loan deal with Sporting CP in January 2016. He signed a permanent contract with the Lions in February 2017.
Speaking of his international career, Sebastian Coastes made his full Uruguay debut against Chile at the 2011 Copa America. Vitoria Guimaraes finished the 2016/2017 Primeira Liga campaign in fourth place in the standings and, as a result, they booked their place in the Europa League qualifiers. The Portuguese side will face the likes of Salzburg, Konyaspor and Olympic Marseille in Group I and they are seen as underdogs in their group. Vitoria Guimaraes welcome their rivals at Estadio D.
