Our prediction for this Primera Division match:
Monday’s football game between Girona and Alaves will bring down the curtain on the La Liga round 17. The Catalan outfit are enjoying a season to remember and a 4-2 win over Barcelona in the Catalan derby helped them climb to top position in the standings. Michel Sanchez’s men are eager to give fans yet another reason to celebrate and they are likely to stick to their attacking style of play against Alaves. All Yangel Herrera, Borja Garcia, Joel Roca Casals, Ricard Artero, and Toni Villa should miss out with injuries for the home side.
The Basques, on the other hand, are stuck in the middle of the table with 16 points on their account and given their anything but good performance in a 1-0 loss to Las Palmas, we believe that punters from all around the globe can find value in betting on the home side. Ander Guevara is back from suspension, but Abdel Abqar is banned this time out.
Highlighted Player (Christian Stuani):
Cristhian Stuani is considered one of the best Uruguay attackers. Stuani was born on 12 October, 1986 and he began his senior career at Danubio. He impressed with the Uruguayan outfit, scoring 23 goals in 36 appearances for the club and, as a result, he became a target for a number of top European clubs.
In 2008 he signed a contract with Reggina, but he failed to impress in 17 appearances for the Italian team. After spending the 2012/2013 season on loan at Espanyol, Christian Stuani signed a permanent deal with the Catalan side in 2013. Stuani scored 12 goals in 37 league appearances for Espanyol in the 2014/2015 Primera Division campaign, but at the end of the season he moved to Middlesbrough for a reported €3 million fee.
The 186-cm-tall striker made his Uruguay debut on 14 November, 2012 in a friendly win over Poland. Stuani also represented la Celeste at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
Highlighted Team (Alaves):
Alaves is a Spanish football club located in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Alava. The club were founded in 1921 and they play their home games at Estadio Mendizorrotza. The capacity of the stadium is 19,840 and it has to be noted that it is the third oldest stadium in Spanish football. After spending several years in the Spanish Segunda Division, los Babazorros returned to the top flight in 2016.
The color of Alaves’ home kit is blue and white and the club’s local rivals are fellow Basque sides Real Sociedad, Athletic Club, Osasuna and Eibar. Alaves made it to the UEFA CUP final in 2001, but they were beaten by Liverpool 5-4 in a thrilling football clash. Anyhow, that is still regarded as the club’s biggest success. Los Babazorros booked their place in the Copa del Rey quarter-finals on four occasions and they have yet to win the Primera Division trophy.
