Our prediction for this Europa League match:
A spot in the Conference League last 32 will be at stake when Panathinaikos and Maccabi Haifa go head to head at Apostolos Nikolaidis Stadium on Thursday afternoon. PAO aim to recover from a 3-2 loss to Villarreal and they must be high on confidence following a routine 4-0 win over OFI Crete. Both Erik Palmer-Brown and Hordur Magnusson are sidelined with injuries, but there are no suspended players in the home team.
Messay Dego’s troops, on the other hand, played out a goalless draw with Villarreal in their last group game and they face a must-win situation in the decider. As Maccabi Haifa are likely to adopt an attack-minded approach in Thursday’s encounter, we believe that the hosts are going to seal the victory on the break. As for the visiting side, Tjarron Chery is back to contention, while fellow midfielder Ali Mohamed misses out with injury.
