Our prediction for this Primera Division match:
There will be fireworks when Almeria and Sevilla go head to head at Power Horse Stadium in the Andalusian derby. Almeria are with one foot in Segunda Division as they have yet to record a win in the 2023/24 La Liga campaign and they must be low on confidence following a 1-0 loss at Celta Vigo. Los Sevillanos, on the other hand, showed character in a 3-2 win over Real Sociedad, with the team escaping the danger zone.
Anyhow, we believe that there is a big value in betting on the visiting team as Almeria have little to play for in the season finale. Bruno Langa is banned for the hosts. As for the away side, experienced right-back Jesus Navas has joined the likes of Dodi Lukebakio, Lucien Agoume, Erik Lamela, and Joan Jordan in the recovery room, while Serbia international Nemanja Gudelj remains doubtful.
Highlighted Player (Marcos Acuña):
Marcos Acuna is an Argentina international who plays for Sporting Club de Portugal as a winger. Born in Zapala, Argentina on October 28, 1991, Acuna started his senior career at Ferro Carril Oeste. After scoring 5 goals in 117 appearances for the Argentine club from 2010 to 2014, he moved to Racing Club in the summer of 2014.
The 172-cm-tall footballer looked sharper in front of goal during his spell with la Academia, scoring 16 goals in 78 appearances for the club. In June 2017 Marcos Acuna decided to take a step forward in his career, joining Portuguese outfit Sporting CP. He made his debut with the Lions in a 2-0 win over Deportivo Aves on August 6, 2017.
Acuna plays for the Argentine national team as well, making his debut for la Albiceleste on November 15, 2016 in a World Cup qualifier against Colombia. His main position is left-back, but he is used as both left midfielder and left winger as well.
Highlighted Team (Almeria):
UD Almeria is a Spanish club based in the autonomous community of Andalusia. Los Rojiblancos are one of the newer additions to the Spanish football system, with the club being founded on July 26, 1989.
Almeria suffered relegation to Segunda Division in the 2014/15 season, and they have been competing in the Spanish second tier ever since. Los Rojiblancos are well known for their white shirts with red stripes, while blue is the dominant colour of their away jersey. Sofiane Feghouli, Felipe Melo, Diego Alves, Veljko Paunovic, Aleix Vidal, Alvaro Negredo, Tomer Hemed, and Mate Bilic are some notable footballers who played for Almeria in the past. Fellow Andalusian clubs Sevilla, Malaga, and Granada are considered the club’s fiercest rivals.
The club’s biggest success in Copa del Rey came in the 2010/11 season when they made it to the semis of the prestigious competition. Nonetheless, Catalan giants Barcelona proved to be a big catch for Almeria in the Spanish Cup semi-finals.
