Our prediction for this MLS match:
Thursday’s football game at Toyota Stadium pits together Dallas and Minnesota United, the two teams who are sitting in the opposite halves of the table. The Toros desperately needed a win against St Louis City and they managed to get one, with the team regaining a much-needed confidence. Dallas aim to give fans yet another reason to celebrate, but they face a tough challenge against Minnesota United. All Paxton Pomykal, Alan Velasco, and Geovane Jesus are sidelined with injuries for the home side.
The Loons, on the other hand, aim to recover from a 2-0 loss to Seattle Sounders, but beating Dallas on the road is easier said than accomplished. Taking everything into account, both sides should be happy with one point from Thursday’s encounter. In their last meeting in the Major League Soccer the two teams played out a 1-1 draw. Moses Nyeman is banned for the visiting side, while important attacker Teemu Pukki misses out with injury.
Highlighted Player (Wil Trapp):
Wil Trapp is an American footballer who plays for Columbus Crew in MLS as a midfielder. Born in Columbus, Ohio, Trapp played for Akron Zips during his college career and in 2013 he returned to his hometown club Columbus Crew. Over the years the 173-cm tall footballer has established himself as a first-team regular and thanks to his thrilling performances in the Major League Soccer, he earned a place in the USA national team.
Wil Trapp made his USA debut on January 28, 2015 in a 3-2 loss to Chile. The Columbus man did well to wear captain’s armband in a friendly game against Bosnia and Herzegovina in January, 2018. Speaking of his club success, Trapp made it to the Eastern Conference play-offs with Columbus in 2015. His main position is defensive midfielder, but he is used as a centre midfielder as well.
The American footballer graduated from Lincoln High School where he was named the 2010 NSCAA National High School Player of the Year.
Highlighted Team (FC Dallas):
Despite making it to the 2010 MLS Cup final, Dallas eventually failed to win the domestic trophy. The Toros (Bulls) were beaten by Colorado in the final played at BMO Field in Toronto and you should bear in mind that the Rapids scored the winner in the extra time.
That was the first and only time Dallas participated in the MLS Cup final, but in 2016 the club won the Supporters’ Shield and the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup. The Toros play their home games at Toyota Stadium, the venue that was opened in August, 2005. The stadium’s original name was Pizza Hut Park, but in September 2013 it was renamed as Toyota Stadium after Pizza Hut Park left as a main sponsor.
FC Dallas wear red shits with white stripes when playing at home, while their secondary colors are white and blue. Former Ajax and River Plate ace Mauro Rosales, who joined the Toyota Stadium outfit in 2016, is regarded as one of the club most significant stars.
