Our prediction for this Premier League match:
Everton and Brighton square off against each other at Goodison Park in what is expected to be one of the most interesting games of Saturday’s program. The Toffees finished the last Premier League campaign in 15th place and, no doubt, they are eyeing a top-ten finish this time out. All Seamus Coleman, Youssef Chermiti, and Nathan Patterson are sidelined with injuries, but there are no suspended players in the home team. A man to watch in the home side will be summer signing Iliman Ndiaye, who is likely to prove a handful for the opposition back-line.
The Seagulls, on the other hand, enjoyed a perfect preseason, with the team winning all of their four warm-up games, including 4-0 crushing of Villarreal. Given Brighton’s attacking potential, we believe that there is a big value in betting on both teams to score. The likes of Yankuba Minteh, Mats Wieffer, and Ibrahim Osman have joined the club, while Marc Leonard, Adam Lallana, and Pascal Gross are no longer part of the American Express Stadium outfit.
Highlighted Player (Abdoulaye Doucouré):
French international midfielder Abdoulaye Doucour is a bundle of raw energy and a player who was voted Watford’s Player of the Season during the 2017/18 campaign. A deep-lying midfielder who takes part in play build-up from behind is a defensive asset who took time to blossom and announce himself at the international stage. He first burst to prominence at Ligue 1 side Rennes in 2012 after a year with the club’s B side and went on to play 75 league matches and score 12 goals.
Watford bought Doucoure in 2016 but sent him on loan to Granada, where he took part in 15 league matches. Determined to prove his worth in the Premier League, the Frenchman of Mali descent wasted no time in grabbing a starting spot under both Marco Silva and Javi Garcia, respectively, upon his return from Spain.
The total of 38 matches played along with 8 goals scored made Doucoure one of the most sought-after assets in the summer of 2018 but the player remained at Vicarage Road despite reported interest from Tottenham Hotspur.
Highlighted Team (Brighton):
Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club were formed in 1901. The Seagulls welcome their opponents at Falmer Stadium and the capacity of Brighton’s home ground is 30,750. The stadium was built in 2008 and it was opened in 2011. The venue is known for commercial purposes as American Express Community Stadium.
Brighton & Hove Albion compete in the Premier League and they play in blue and white stripes. The colour of Brighton’s away kit is green. The club made it to the FA Cup final in 1983, but English giants Manchester United proved to be a big catch for the Red Devils.
Brighton’s main rivals are Crystal Palace and the Seagulls have recorded 35 wins over the Eagles. Frank Stapleton, Martin Chivers, Joe Corrigan, Bobby Zamora, Mark Lawrenson, Bobby Smith, John Crumplin and Frank Worthington are notable footballers who played for Brighton in the past. The Albion is Preston’s yet another nickname.
