Our prediction for this Premier League match:
Southampton will look to bounce back from a 1-0 loss to Newcastle United when they take on Nottingham Forest on Matchday 2. The Saints failed to upset the ten-man Magpies at St. James’ Park, but they are surely capable of matching the Reds in front of home fans. There are no fresh injury worries in the home team, but all Adam Lallana, Gavin Bazunu, and Kamaldeen Sulemana remain in the recovery room.
Nottingham Forest, on the other hand, kicked off the new Premier League campaign with a 1-1 draw with Bournemouth. The Reds are determined to record their first win of the process this weekend, but seeing that Southampton are eager to register their first home triumph in the Premier League since March 4, 2024, we are tempted to bet on the newcomers. Midfielder Danilo is injured for the visiting team, while winger Elanga should be fit for the match.
Highlighted Player (Ibrahim Sangaré):
Ibrahim Sangare is an Ivorian professional football player who plays for Toulouse in the first tier of French Football. Standing at 1.91m, the defensive midfielder is known for his "big presence" and " tackling."Sangare started his youth career with Ivorian clubs Tout Koumassi and AS Duenguele and spent a cumulative of five years with the clubs.
In 2016, he left Ivory Coast to join the French club Toulouse FC on an initial one year contract, which later extended to five years. After spending his first few months in the reserve team, Sangare broke into the first team set up as the season progressed. He made his professional debut on the 22nd of October, 2016, in Toulouse's 0-0 league draw with SCO Angers.
As of today, Sangare made 66 appearances for the club in all competitions. Born on the 2nd of December 1997, the 21-year-old has represented Ivory Coast at the under-23 level and the senior level, debuting for both in the year 2015.
Highlighted Team (Southampton):
Southampton are an English football club that have been playing their home games at St Mary's Stadium since 2001. The Saints were based at The Dell in the past and the capacity of Southampton’s new stadium is 32,505. Southampton wear red and white striped shirts and the colour of the team’s away kit is navy and green.
The Saints have yet to win the Premier League trophy, but they did well to clinch the FA Cup title back in 1976, while participating in the final of the prestigious competition in 1900, 1902 and 2003. Southampton outplayed Manchester United in the 1976 FA Cup final and that is probably the club’s greatest victory ever.
The club are well known for their football academy and Real Madrid superstar Gareth Bale is one of the players who began their football carrier at the St. Mary’s Stadium outfit. Southampton’s fiercest rivals are Portsmouth and the two teams square off against each other in the South Coast Derby.
