Our prediction for this Serie B match:
Sudtirol and Frosinone take on each other at Stadio Marco Druso in what is expected to be a close Serie B encounter. Sudtirol aim to recover from back-to-back defeats to Pisa and Catanzaro and they face yet another tough challenge against Frosinone. Albania forward Silvio Merkaj is pushing for a rare start, while Fabian Tait remains in the recovery room. Both Andrea Cagnano and Alessandro Mallamo are major doubts.
The Canarini, on the other hand, suffered a dip in form, with the team failing to find the net in the last three league matches. As Frosinone have been struggling in front of goal of late, a low-scoring affair is on the cards at Stadio Marco Druso. In their last meeting in the Serie B the two sides played out a boring goalless draw. Midfielder Alejandro Cichero is banned for the match following his sending-off in a goalless draw with Pisa.
Highlighted Team (Frosinone):
Back in 1912 Frosinone were founded as Unione Sportiva Frusinate and it has to be noted that the colors of the team were originally red and blue. They were later changed to the current yellow and blue and the Canarini have been wearing those kits ever since. Frosinone made their first ever appearance in the Serie A in the 2015/2016 season, but they failed to secure the promotion.
The Canarini finished the season in 19th place in the standings, eight points behind Udinese, who eventually avoided relegation to Serie B. However, two years later Frosinone returned to the Italian top flight as they defeated Palermo 3-2 on aggregate in the play-offs final.
The club play their home games at Stadio Benito Stirpe, the stadium that was opened in 2017. The venue can hold 16,227 spectators and it is owned by the Municipality of Frosinone. The construction cost €20 million.
