Our prediction for this Serie B match:
Stadio Benito Stirpe will host Saturday’s football game between Frosinone and Sassuolo. The Canarini have found their form of late, but they will have a big fish to fry against the league leaders. Gambia midfielder Ebrima Darboe is banned for the match, while both Bettella and Gelli are out of contention with injuries for the home side.
The Neroverdi, on the other hand, aim to build on a thrilling 5-1 win over Sampdoria. Sassuolo have been scoring goals for fun of late and given Frosinone’s signs of improvement up front, there is a big value in betting on both teams to score. In their last meeting at the venue Frosinone outplayed Sassuolo 4-2, but a close encounter is on the cards this time out. Former Italy left-back Fabio Grosso has a luxury to field the best possible side against the Canarini.
Highlighted Player (Domenico Berardi):
Once one of the most promising young players in Serie A, Domenico Berardi is the Italian footballer that plays for Sassuolo and the Italy national team. Born in Cairati, Calabria, the forward begun his professional career back in 2012, when he helped the Neroverdi win Serie B and play in Serie A next season and was named as the best player of the competition, only 18 years of age.
He made his first appearance for the Italy U19 national team in the same season. His excellent performances draw the attention of Juventus and the Old Lady confirmed in the beginning of the Season 2013/14 that Domenico Berardi joined the club on a co-ownership deal.
The player never played for Juventus because he remained in Sassuolo and he recently signed a new contract with the Neroverdi. The 24-year-old right winger, who can also play as a left winger and a second striker, made his first appearance in the senior national team in June 2018.
Highlighted Team (Frosinone):
Back in 1912 Frosinone were founded as Unione Sportiva Frusinate and it has to be noted that the colors of the team were originally red and blue. They were later changed to the current yellow and blue and the Canarini have been wearing those kits ever since. Frosinone made their first ever appearance in the Serie A in the 2015/2016 season, but they failed to secure the promotion.
The Canarini finished the season in 19th place in the standings, eight points behind Udinese, who eventually avoided relegation to Serie B. However, two years later Frosinone returned to the Italian top flight as they defeated Palermo 3-2 on aggregate in the play-offs final.
The club play their home games at Stadio Benito Stirpe, the stadium that was opened in 2017. The venue can hold 16,227 spectators and it is owned by the Municipality of Frosinone. The construction cost €20 million.
