Our prediction for this Segunda Division match:
Sporting Gijon will be aiming to recover from a 1-0 loss to Cartagena when they take on Racing Ferrol in the La Liga 2 round 19. Los Rojiblancos have been impressive at home of late, winning six of their last seven home games and they are surely capable of making life difficult for the Galicians. First-choice goalkeeper Ruben Yanez, though, is banned for the match, with Cuba shot-stopper Christian Joel likely to step up.
Ferrol, on the other hand, experienced all sorts of problems at the back in a 5-1 loss to Oviedo, which is probably the main reason why we are going to place our bets on Sporting Gijon. The good news for the visiting team is that experienced defender Naldo is back from suspension. In their last meeting in the Spanish second tier Ferrol defeated Gijon 2-1, meaning that the hosts are hungry for revenge.
Highlighted Team (Gijon):
Sporting Gijon are a Spanish football club that competes in La Liga. Sporting Gijon’s home ground is El Molinon, the stadium that was built in 1908. El Molinon is the oldest football field in Spain and the capacity of the stadium is 30,000. Sporting Gijon’s home kit is red and white and the club’s main rivals are Real Oviedo.
The two teams take on each other in the Asturian derby.
