Our prediction for this Portugal Primeira Liga match:
Following a hard-fought 2-0 win over Estrela, Porto will look to stay in the title race when they face Moreirense in the Primeira Liga round 15. The Dragons aim to overtake Sporting CP in top position, but they will have to prove their worth on the field. Marko Grujic and Ivan Marcano remain in the recovery room, but there are no fresh injury worries in the away team ahead of the trip to Minho. In their last meeting at Parque Joaquim de Almeida Freitas Moreirense defeated Porto 2-1, meaning that the visitors are hungry for revenge.
The hosts, on the other hand, failed to impress in a 1-0 loss to Nacional, which is probably the main reason why we are going to bet on Sergio Conceicao’s troops. Both Guilherme Liberato and Hernani Infande are out of contention with injuries for the home side. Curacao forward Jeremy Antonisse is pushing for a start.
Highlighted Player (Pepe):
Pepe is a professional footballer who plays for Porto as a defender. The Portuguese international played for Maritimo at the start of his senior career and in 2004 he moved to Porto. After making 64 league appearances for the Dragons, he signed a contract with Real Madrid in 2007 and he quickly established himself as a first-team regular.
Pepe is well known for his hard tackles and referees often show him red card. The Real Madrid centre back often played as a defensive midfielder under Jose Mourinho and it has to be noted that he scored five goals in all competitions in the 2013/2014 La Liga campaign.
The Portuguese footballer won his second Champions League trophy with Real Madrid in the 2015/2016 season and later in 2016 he helped A Selecao win the European Championship trophy. Portugal defeated France in the title game and Pepe played an important role in Fernando Santos’ team in the Euro 2016 final. The Real Madrid defender was born in Maceio, Brazil on 26 February, 1983.
Highlighted Team (Moreirense):
Moreirense are a Portuguese football club based in Moreira de Conegos. Founded on November 1, 1938, Os verdes e brancos welcome their rivals at Parque Moreira de Conegos Guimaraes, the venue which can hold up to 9,000 spectators.
Moreirense wear green and white shirts and white shorts when playing at home, whilst black and red are the dominant colours of their away kit. In the 2016/2017 season Os verdes e brancos did well to win the Taca da Liga trophy, with the team beating Braga 1-0 in the title game.
Caue scored the winner for Moreirense on the stroke of half time. Moreirense impressed in the 2018/2019 Primeira Liga season, finishing the process in sixth position in the standings. The club missed out on a place in the Europa League on goal difference to Vitoria de Guimaraes. Penafiel are considered one of the club’s main rivals.
