Our prediction for this Primera Division match:
Deportivo Alaves will try to recover from a 1-0 loss to Barcelona when they take on Getafe in the La Liga round 23. The Basques produced a fine display against the Catalan giants and they are surely capable of matching los Azulones on home soil. Tomas Conechny picked up an injury against Barca, with Carlos Martin likely to sneak into the starting XI. Defender Abdel Abqar is back from suspension for the home side.
The capital club, on the other hand, head into the match following a goalless draw with Sevilla. Getafe have been impressive at the back of late and given Deportivo Alaves’ fine defensive performance against Barcelona, we believe that there is a big value in betting on under 2.5 goals. You should know that under 2.5 goals have been netted in eight of the previous nine meetings between the two sides. Paraguay centre-back Omar Alderete is back from suspension for the visiting side.

A central defender who can equally be deployed as a right-back, Djene Dakonam has emerged as one of the most influential Getafe players in the 2017/18 season. His road to prominence was a long one, however, and Djene had to bide his time in order to be recognized for quality he undoubtedly possesses. Dapaong-born Togolese international, Djene Dakonam made his first football steps as a youth member of Etoile Filante.
Spells in Benin and Cameroon with Tonnerre d’Abomey and Coton Sport, respectively, saw Djene Dakonam grab attention of Alcoron, who moved in to bring him to Spain in 2014. During two years in Spain Djene Dakonam made 59 league appearances before moving to Sint-Truidense. It was in Belgium that Djene Dakonam proved his defensive versatility and Getafe came calling the very next year, in 2017.
Djene proved to be an instant hit with the Azulones and is hoping a move to one of Europe’s biggest clubs will not be too far away for him. The likes of Arsenal and Tottenham have been sniffing around him during the summer transfer window in 2018 but were ultimately scared off by his £31 million release clause.

Alaves is a Spanish football club located in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Alava. The club were founded in 1921 and they play their home games at Estadio Mendizorrotza. The capacity of the stadium is 19,840 and it has to be noted that it is the third oldest stadium in Spanish football. After spending several years in the Spanish Segunda Division, los Babazorros returned to the top flight in 2016.
The color of Alaves’ home kit is blue and white and the club’s local rivals are fellow Basque sides Real Sociedad, Athletic Club, Osasuna and Eibar. Alaves made it to the UEFA CUP final in 2001, but they were beaten by Liverpool 5-4 in a thrilling football clash. Anyhow, that is still regarded as the club’s biggest success. Los Babazorros booked their place in the Copa del Rey quarter-finals on four occasions and they have yet to win the Primera Division trophy.
