Our prediction for this Portugal Primeira Liga match:
Buoyed by a 3-0 win over ten-man Boavista, Benfica will look to give fans yet another reason to celebrate when they take on Nacional on Matchday 25. The Eagles aim to melt Sporting CP’s advantage in the Primeira Liga standings and they have no other option but to go all guns blazing at Nacional. Greek forward Vangelis Pavlidis is widely expected to return to the starting XI, while midfielder Leandro Barreiro is back from suspension. Defender Alexander Bah remains in the recovery room.
Martin Lasarte’s men, on the other hand, aim to build on a hard-fought 2-1 win over Famalicao, but given their difficulties on the road, home win should be considered. It has to be noted that Nacional have suffered three defeats in the previous four away games. You should bear in mind that six years ago, Benfica crushed Nacional 10-0 in Lisbon. Midfielder Matheus Dias is back from suspension for the away team.
