Our prediction for this Portugal Primeira Liga match:
Sparkles will be flying when Benfica and Sporting CP face each other in the Lisbon derby. Primeira Liga title is at stake and a win over Sporting will see Benfica climb to top position in the standings. Talented defender Alvaro Carreras is back from suspension for the local derby, while Swiss forward Zeki Amdouni is a major doubt after limping off with injury in a 2-1 win over Estoril.
The Lions, on the other hand, survived Gil Vicente in their last league match, with Eduardo Quaresma scoring a beautiful winner in the stoppage time. As Sporting CP should be happy with one point from Saturday’s derby, they are likely to adopt a cautious approach this time out. Benfica and Sporting seem to be evenly matched at the moment and, taking everything into account, we believe that there is a big value in betting on draw. It has to be noted that the Lions are boosted by Ousmane Diomande’s return from suspension.
