Our prediction for this Europa Conference League match:
AZ Alkmaar will be looking to clinch their spot in the Conference League playoffs when they face Vaduz at Rheinpark Stadion. The Cheese Farmers faced no difficulties in the first leg, beating Vaduz 3-0 at AFAS Stadion and they are seen as hot favourites to win the return leg as well. Given AZ’s excellent performance in a 4-1 crushing of Groningen at the weekend, away win should definitely be considered. Key attacker Troy Parrott is only one yellow card away from suspension, while defender Mees de Wit is a major doubt after picking up a knock in the Eredivisie triumph.
Vaduz, on the other hand, will have a big fish to fry in the reverse fixture and given their defensive vulnerabilities, we predict that AZ Alkmaar will give fans yet another reason to celebrate on Thursday evening. Liechtenstein midfielder Nicolas Hasler returns to the Vaduz starting XI after scoring as a substitute in a 3-0 win over Stade Nyonnais at the weekend.
