Our prediction for this World Cup 2026 match:
Australia will be aiming to climb to automatic qualification places when they take on Vietnam at AAMI Park on Thursday morning. The Soccceroos are seen as hot favourites to win the qualifier, but they will have to prove their worth on the field. Head coach Graham Arnold will watch the game from the stands following his positive test for coronavirus, while a man to watch in the home team will be experienced Celtic midfielder Tom Rogic.
Vietnam, on the other hand, do not seem to be competitive at this level, with the team suffering a loss in each of their six group games. The rock-bottom side are low on spirits ahead of the trip to Melbourne, and we do not believe that they are capable of spoiling Australia’s party at AAMI Park. Earlier in the process Australia defeated Vietnam thanks to Rhyan Grant’s goal.
Highlighted Player (Ryan Edwards):
Despite being born in Singapore on November 17, 1993, Ryan Edwards is eligible to represent Australia in international matches. The 175-cm-tall midfielder has 18 caps with Australia U-23 and it has to be noted that he played for the Socceroos at the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup. Speaking of his club career, Edwards is a product of AIS, the high performance sports training institution from Australia, but in 2011 he was spotted by Reading scouts.
Ryan Edwards played for the Royals at senior level, making seven appearances for the club in the league. The Australian international whore Perth Glory (loan), St. Mirren (loan), Partick Thistle and Heart of Midlothian shirts as well before signing a deal with Burton Albion in 2019.
He made his debut with the Brewers in the League One on August 3, 2019 in a 1-0 loss to Ipswich Town. His main position is attacking midfielder, but he is capable of producing fine performances at both central and right midfield as well.
