Honduras
Independence Park will host Thursday’s World Cup qualifier between Jamaica and Honduras, the two teams who failed to book their tickets for Qatar. The Reggae Boyz have been underperforming in the qualifiers, with the team recording no more than one win in the process. Anyhow, they are seen as favourites to beat the rock-bottom side on home soil. West Ham ace Michail Antonio has been omitted, and head coach Paul Hall will continue to rely on local players in the last group game.
Los Catrachos, on the other hand, are stuck at the bottom with only four points in their pocket. Honduras are not regarded as good travelers, which is probably the main reason why we are going to put our money on the home side. When the two teams met in San Pedro Sula earlier in the process Jamaica defeated Honduras 2-0.
Highlighted Player (Jamie Vardy):
Spending his early career playing no-league football, Jamie Vardy made the headlines when he joined Leicester City in a £1 million deal in 2012, but little did he know that he would go on to become a genuine Premier League star just three years later.
The experienced forward helped the Foxes gain promotion to the elite division and then score more than 20 goals as they mounted an unlikely title bid, earning worldwide acclaim as well as a place in the England squad. Vardy went on to score his first two goals for the Three Lions in March 2016 friendlies, with his back-heel goal against Germany in Berlin seeing him instantly become a fans’ favourite.
Over the years, Vardy has earned a reputation as a striker who never gives up and can be a real menace for opposition defenders, but his excellent goalscoring record and good link-up play are enough to suggest he can be described as a mix of old-style pacey forwards and modern strikers.

Honduras are a national football team from Central America that qualified for the World Cup finals for the first time in 1982. Los Catrachos did well to share the spoils with hosts Spain at the showpiece tournament, but they eventually failed to book their place in the knockout stages.
Honduras participated at the 2010 and the 2014 FIFA World Cup finals as well, but they failed to impress at the tournaments in South Africa and Brazil. Winning of the 1981 CONCACAF Championship is undisputedly the team’s biggest success and it has to be noted that they finished the final round in top position in the standings, two points clear of El Salvador and three above Mexico.
Los Catrachos were beaten by Canada in the 1985 Gold Cup final, with the team finishing the 1991 tournament as runners-up as well. Wilson Palacios, who used to play for the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Stoke City as regarded as one of the most notable footballers who represented Honduras national team on the international stage.
