Our prediction for this World Cup 2026 match:
Independence Park will host Monday’s World Cup qualifier between Jamaica and USA. The Reggae Boyz aim to keep their World Cup qualifying hopes alive, but they will have a big fish to fry against the Yanks. West Ham United ace Michail Antonio, who scored the opener in a 1-1 draw with El Salvador, is pushing for a start, while both Kemar Roofe and Je-Vaughn Watson are rated doubtful for the match as the duo limped off with injuries in the last group game.
USA, on the other hand, defeated Mexico 2-0 in the CONCACAF World Cup qualifying derby, with Christian Pulisic finding the net on his return from injury. The Chelsea winger is pushing for a start, while defender Miles Robinson serves a one-game ban. To make things even worse for the visitors, Juve midfielder Weston McKennie is banned for the match as well. Anyhow, a close encounter is on the cards in Kingston as Jamaica are tough to beat at home.
Highlighted Player (Wes Morgan):
Wes Morgan is an experienced 32-year-old defender who plays for English Premier League team Leicester City and the Jamaica national team. Morgan spent majority of his career at his boyhood club Nottingham Forest playing more than 400 games for them across 10 seasons. He was their longest-serving player when he transferred to Leicester City in 2012.
Morgan soon became the captain of Leicester City and had great success with the Foxes most notably winning the Championship title in 2014 and the Premier League title in 2016. Morgan was born and brought up in England but chose to represent his ancestral nation at international level.
He debuted for Jamaica in 2013 and was part of the teams that competed in the 2015 Copa America. He was also a successful member of the Jamaican team that finished second in the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup. Morgan is a tough tackling defender and is a sturdy presence at the back.
