Honduras
Estadio Rommel Fernandez will host Friday’s World Cup qualifier between Panama and Honduras. Los Canaleros aim to retain their spot in top four, and they will not have a better chance than this to return to winning ways. Even though all Armando Cooper, Jose Calderon, and Azmahar Ariano miss out for the hosts, we are tempted to put our money on Thomas Christiansen’s troops as Honduras are having a campaign to forget.
Los Catrachos are on a seven-game losing run in the WC qualifiers, and given their difficulties in front of goal, anything but a routine home win would be a major surprise. When the two teams met at Estadio Olimpico Metropolitano Panama defeated Honduras 3-2, which is yet another reason why home win should be considered. As for the visiting side, all Wesly Decas, Carlos Argueta, Cristian Sacaza, Jonathan Nunez, Joseph Rosales, Junior Lacayo, and Edwin Solani Solano are back to the squad.

Anibal Godoy is a professional footballer who plays for Panama national football team. The powerful midfielder was born on February 10, 1990 and he has been playing for los Ticos since March 4, 2010 when he made his debut for the national team.
Anibal Godoy played full 90 minutes in the 2-1 win over Venezuela and he scored his first goal for Panama four years late in a 3-1 victory over El Salvador. Speaking of his club career, Godoy played for Chepo of Panama from 2007 to 2010 and he moved to Europe in the summer of 2013, signing a deal with Hungarian outfit Honved.
After playing 24 league games (one goal) for Honved, Godoy signed for Major League Soccer club San Jose Earthquakes in August 2015. Anibal Godoy is a defensive midfielder and his preferred foot is left. His contract with San Jose should expire in December, 2017 and it has to be noted that he began his youth career Arsenal de Sarandi of Argentina.

Honduras are a national football team from Central America that qualified for the World Cup finals for the first time in 1982. Los Catrachos did well to share the spoils with hosts Spain at the showpiece tournament, but they eventually failed to book their place in the knockout stages.
Honduras participated at the 2010 and the 2014 FIFA World Cup finals as well, but they failed to impress at the tournaments in South Africa and Brazil. Winning of the 1981 CONCACAF Championship is undisputedly the team’s biggest success and it has to be noted that they finished the final round in top position in the standings, two points clear of El Salvador and three above Mexico.
Los Catrachos were beaten by Canada in the 1985 Gold Cup final, with the team finishing the 1991 tournament as runners-up as well. Wilson Palacios, who used to play for the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Stoke City as regarded as one of the most notable footballers who represented Honduras national team on the international stage.
