Our prediction for this Taca de Portugal match:
A spot in the Taca de Portugal quarter-finals will be at stake when Moreirense and Santa Clara face each other at Parque Joaquim de Almeida Freitas on Tuesday evening. Moreirense have been struggling at the back of late, with the team conceding five goals in total in the previous two league fixtures. Os Verdes e Brancos booked their place in the Taca de Portugal last 16 by beating Merelinense and Cova Piedade, but Santa Clara are likely to pose a much bigger threat for the hosts than their previous rivals.
The likes of Mane, Pedro, and Amador are all likely to miss the game with injuries for the home team. Os Acoreanos are on a four-game winless run in the Primeira Liga, but they proved their worth in a 1-1 draw with Benfica. Santa Clara defeated both Beira-Mar and Vitoria Guimaraes in the previous two away games in the Taca de Portugal, and they are surely capable of matching Moreirense behind closed doors. A close encounter is on the cards at Parque Joaquim de Almeida Freitas, and we are tempted to put our money on draw.
Highlighted Player (Pedro Nuno ):
After spending his youth career at the likes of Buarcos, Naval, Benfica, and Academica, Pedro Nuno continued playing for the Briosa at the senior level. Pedro Nuno scored five goals in 25 appearances for Academica in the league, which persuaded Benfica chiefs to sign him on November 28, 2016.
