Our prediction for this Primera Division match:
Estadio de Mestalla will host the La Liga game between Valencia and Osasuna. Los Che are eyeing their fourth consecutive win in all competitions, and a triumph over Osasuna will see the hosts move a little closer to the top half of the table. It has to be noted that Valencia are eyeing their third home win of the season. Los Rojillos, on the other hand, did well to eliminate Espanyol in the Copa del Rey last 32 at the weekend, with the team keeping yet another clean sheet in 2021.
Osasuna are likely to rely on their rock-solid defence in the midweek fixture, and seeing that Valencia have been struggling in front of goal this season, a low-scoring affair is on the cards. In their last encounter in the Spanish top flight Valencia defeated Osasuna 2-0, with both Guedes and Rodrigo finding the net for the hosts.
Highlighted Player (Denis Cheryshev):
Probably the most famous Russian footballer never to have played for a domestic club, Denis Cheryshev was born in Nizhny Novgorod, but began his career at Sporting Gijon as his father played for the Spanish side at the time.
The talented winger eventually caught the eye of Real Madrid and went on to spend eight years in the youth academy at Santiago Bernabeu before he was given a chance to impress on senior level. Due to a fierce competition for places in Madrid, Cheryshev was forced to gain much needed first team experience via loan spells at Sevilla, Villarreal and Valencia, and he showed a great deal of potential during those stints, proving los Blancos were wrong to let him leave.
Chersyhev has been in and out of the Russia national team since making his debut in 2012, but there is a good chance he will become an important member of Sbornaya Komanda as soon as he secures regular playing time at club level. The Russian footballer is capable of operating on either wing or through the middle, and he has proved to be quite prolific in terms of both goals and assists.
Highlighted Team (Osasuna):
Osasuna are a Basque football team that plays in Spanish La Liga. Los Rojillos are based in Pamplona and and the club were founded in 1920. Estadio El Sadar has been the home of Osasuna since 1967 and the capacity of the stadium is 19,800.
The colour of Osasuna’s home kit is red, while the team’s shorts are navy blue. Los Rojillos dropped to the Segunda Division at the end of the 2013/2014 La Liga campaign, but they did not spend too many time in the Spanish second tier. The club returned to the elite division in 2016 after beating Girona in the play-offs.
Osasuna made it to the Spanish Copa del Rey final in 2005, but they eventually lost to Real Betis after extra time in the title game. The meaning of the word Osasuna is “health” in Basque and it is used in a sense of strength.
