Fleetwood and Accrington take on each other at Highbury Stadium in what is expected to be a close encounter. The Cod Army continue with their habit of producing much better showings at home than on the travels, with the team losing to Sunderland at Stadium of Light on Tuesday evening. Fleetwood are nine point clear of the relegation zone, but they will have to be at their sharpest in the remainder of the season if they are to secure the League One survival.
Joel Coleman has overcome his injury, but he should once again start from the bench. Accrington, on the other hand, are three points behind the playoffs berth. The visitors failed to impress in a 2-0 loss to Crewe, but they are surely capable of holding Fleetwood to a draw at Highbury Stadium. It has to be noted that under 2.5 goals have been netted in seven of Fleetwood’s previous eight league fixtures.

Probably one of the most underrated footballers in Premier League history, Glenn Whelan was born on 13 January 1982 in Dublin and he went on to enjoy a very successful career on club and international level.
Following spells with Manchester City, Bury and Sheffield Wednesday, the defensive midfielder found his peace at the Britannia Stadium, making over 250 Premier League appearances for Stoke City and keeping his place in the side under both Tony Pulis and Mark Hughes. Predominantly focused on doing the dirty defensive work and helping out the back four, Whelan never quite made the headlines for his style of play or quality of his displays, but remained an important player for both club and country.
The midfielder has so far made over 70 appearances for the Republic of Ireland national team, wearing the captain’s armband on several occasions, and starting all three group games at the Euro 2012 finals, while helping The Green Army qualify for the Euro 2016 as well.

Founded back in 1891 and reformed in 1968, Accrington Stanley are an English football club that compete in the League One. The original team competed in the Football League from 1921 to 1962, spending the last four seasons in Lancashire Combination.
The Accy are well known for their red home kit, whilst they wear sky blue shirts and white shorts when playing on the travels. The League One side play their home games at Crown Ground, the stadium which can hold up to 5,450 spectators (3,100 seated). Accrington have been playing at Crown Ground since 1970.
Listed as the all-time favourite player amongst fans, Chris Grimshaw is one of the most famous Accrington Stanley footballers. However, George Stewart is the team’s top scorer, netting 136 goals in total from 1954 to 1958. It has to be noted that the Accy have yet to represent England in European competitions.
