Our prediction for this Netherlands Eredivisie match:
Fortuna Sittard and Twente square off against each other at Fortuna Sittard Stadion in what is expected to be a close Eredivisie clash. Fortuna quickly bounced back from a 3-1 loss to Emmen, with the team outplaying Den Haag 3-0 on the road. Sjors Ultee’s troops did well to secure the Eredivisie survival, but they do not want to give up on their Europa Conference League dream either. Given Twente’s three-match losing run, we believe that there is a big value in betting on the home team.
Switzerland international Angha returns from suspension, while defender Van den Buijs, who suffered an injury in the win over Den Haag, is likely to miss the match with injury. The Reds should be without injured trio Brama – Cerny – Pleguezuelo in Saturday’s showdown. It has to be noted that Fortuna are eyeing their first win over Twente since February 2002.
Highlighted Player (Alexei Koselev):
Alexei Koselev is a Moldovan international who plays for Eredivisie side Fortuna Sittard. Koselev started his youth career at Kuban Krasnodar, but he did not see any game action with the Russian club at senior level.
The Moldovan goalkeeper played for the likes of Gagauzia, Dacia-2 Buiucani, Real-Succes, Saxan Gagauz Yeri, FC Tiraspol, Sheriff Tiraspol, and Politehnica Iasi before joining Fortuna Sittard in the summer of 2018. Alexei Koselev has 18 caps for the Moldova U21 team, and he made his senior debut in a qualifier against Russia in 2015.
The 200-cm-tall shot-stopper managed to keep his first clean sheet with the Moldova national team in a 2-0 win over San Marino on March 19, 2017. Alexei Koselev’s preferred foot is right, and he wears the No. 77 shirt at Fortuna Sittard. He made his Eredivisie debut on August 11, 2018 in a 1-1 draw with Excelsior.
Highlighted Team (Twente):
Based in the city of Enschede, Twente is a Dutch football club that welcomes their rivals at De Grolsch Veste. The venue was opened on May 10, 1998, and the capacity of the stadium is 30,205 people. The club was founded in 1965 as a merger of Sportsclub Enschede and Enschedese Boys.
The Reds did remarkably well to win the Eredivisie title in the 2009/10 season, with the team finishing the process only one point clear of Dutch giants Ajax. As a result, Twente booked their place in the Champions League group stages. The Reds did well to collect six points in their group, but that did not help them make it to the last 16.
Twente are well known for their red jerseys, but they wear dark blue shirts when playing on the travels. The Reds take on Heracles Almelo in the Twentse Derby. Sander Boshchker is leading Twente’s all-time goal-scoring chart with 653 goals on his account.
