Espanyol
Alcorcon and Espanyol, the two teams who sit in the opposite halves of the table, face each other at Estadio Municipal de Santo Domingo in what is expected to be a very exciting game. Alcorcon are only one point clear of the relegation zone, meaning that their elite division status is in great danger. Since Espanyol have already secured automatic promotion, home win should definitely be considered.
Experienced attacker Jimenez Xisco, who suffered an injury in the 1-0 loss to Girona, is unlikely to feature for the hosts. Los Periquitos played out a 1-1 draw with Tenerife in their last league match, and even though they want to clinch top position, we are tempted to put our money on the relegation-threatened hosts. Key attacker and top scorer Raul De Tomas is widely expected to return to Espanyol’s starting XI, while midfielder Sergi Darder is banned for the match.

Born in Accra, Ghana on July 10, 1992, Richard Boateng is a midfielder who plays for Alcorcon in Segunda Division. Boateng is a product of Liberty Babies football academy, with the Ghanaian starting his senior career at Liberty Professionals. In 2010 he moved to Spain, signing a deal with Granada.
During his spell with the Andalusian outfit, he mainly played for Granada B, but he spent a couple of years at loan at Cadiz B and San Roque as well. Richard Boateng made only one appearance for the Granada senior team in the league.
The Ghana international played for the likes of Aris Limassol, Extremadura, Melilla, and Oviedo as well before joining Alcorcon in 2019. His primary position is central midfielder, but he is used as an attacking midfielder as well. His preferred foot is right, and his contract with Alcorcon should expire in June 2021.

Espanyol are a Catalan club that plays in Spanish La Liga. Espanyol were founded in 1900 and their original name was Sociedad Espanola de Football. In 1901 the Catalan club changed its name to Club Espanol de Futbol. Los Periquitos used to play in bright yellow shirts in the past, but current colour of the team’s home kit is blue and white.
Espanyol’s fiercest rivals are Barcelona and the two teams face each other in the Catalan derby (Derbi barceloni). Espanyol have always been in Barca’s shadow, but it has to be noted that los Periquitos have won four Copa del Rey (Spanish Cup trophies).
The likes of Raul Tamudo, Jose Maria, Antonio Argiles and Mauricio Pochettino are players with most appearances for the Catalan outfit. Espanyol play their home games at Estadio Cornella-El Prat and the capacity of the stadium is 40,500. Los Periquitos have never participated in the Champions League.
