Our prediction for this match:
Eintracht Frankfurt and Strasbourg take on each other in a warm-up game on Saturday afternoon. Die Adler are eyeing their third consecutive win in the pre-season, and we are positive that they will stick to their attacking style of play. A man to keep an eye on in the Bundesliga side will be pacey Serbian winger Filip Kostic, who found the net in the 6-1 crushing of Giessen.
Le Racing, on the other hand, head into the match following a 1-0 loss to Sion. Strasbourg are determined to get back on course in pre-season, and given their attacking potential, we believe that punters can find value in betting on both teams to score. When the two teams met in the Europa League two years ago Eintracht Frankfurt defeated Strasbourg 3-0, but BTTS betting option should be considered this time out.
Highlighted Player (Timothy Chandler):
Timothy Chandler is a professional footballer, who started his senior career at Eintracht Frankfurt reserve team. In 2010 he signed for Nurnberg and he made 17 appearances for the reserve team. After playing 95 league games for Nurnberg he returned to Eintracht Frankfurt on 3 June, 2014, signing a three-year contract with his former club.
Chandler was born in Frankfurt on 29 March, 1990, but seeing that his father is American, the defender decided to play for the USA national football team. Chandler made his USA debut on March, 2011, coming as a substitute in a 1-1 draw with Argentina.
The Freiburg defender made USA 2014 World Cup squad, but he did not play for the Yanks at the showpiece tournament in Brazil. It has to be noted that Chandler made 10 appearances for Eintracht Frankfurt in the 2015/2016 Bundesliga campaign. His main position is right back, but he is capable of playing as a right midfielder and a right winger as well.
Highlighted Team (Strasbourg):
Founded back in 1906, Strasbourg is a professional football team that compete in French Ligue 1. Le Racing did remarkably well to win the 1979 Ligue 1 trophy and that is considered the biggest success in the history of the club. Strasbourg won Coupe de France on three occasions (1951, 1966, 2001) and they have three Coupe de la Ligue trophies as well (1964, 1997, 2005). Strasbourg’s main rivals are Metz and the two teams face each other in the Derby de l’Est (The Eastern derby).
Le Racing recorded their biggest victory over Valenciennes (10-0) in the 1937-1938 season, whilst they suffered their biggest loss to Limoges (0-8) in the 1959/1960 season. Paraguayan goalkeeper Jose Luis Chilavert, who is well known for his free-kick abilities, played for the club from 2000 to 2003, but he failed to score in a league match during his spell with the Stade de la Meinau outfit. Speaking of Stade de la Meinau, Strasbourg’s home ground was opened back in 1914 and the capacity of the venue is 29,320.
