Our prediction for this League 2 match:
Saturday’s football game at The New Lawn pits together Forest Green and Sutton, the two teams who meet for the first time since March 2017. Back then Forest Green defeated Sutton in the National League, and the Green Army are once again seen as favourites to win the encounter. It has to be noted that the club chiefs did well to keep hold of key attacker Jamille Matt of Jamaica in the summer transfer window.
In their last warm-up game Forest Green defeated Yeovil thanks to Jamille Matt’s goal, which is surely giving fans a reason for optimism ahead of the season opener. The newcomers, on the other hand, aim to build on a pre-season win over Barnet, but seeing that Forest Green are a real force to be reckoned with at home, the underdogs are unlikely to grab something from Saturday’s match.
