Our prediction for this Scottish Premiership match:
Dens Park will host Saturday’s football game between Dundee and St. Mirren. Dundee did well to secure promotion to the Premiership, and, no doubt, the team’s main goal for the upcoming season is to avoid relegation to the Championship. A man to keep an eye on in the home team will be former Shrewsbury Town attacker Jason Cummings, who scored 8 goals in 15 appearances for the Dees last term.
The Saints, on the other hand, have been impressive in the League Cup, with the team beating all Dumbarton, Dunfermline, Stenhousemuir, and Partrick Thistle. Since both Dundee and St. Mirren will go for a win in the season opener, we are tempted to put our money on both teams to score. You should bear in mind that both sides found the net in each of their previous four meetings in the Scottish top flight.
Highlighted Player (Marcus Fraser):
Marcus Fraser is a Scottish footballer who plays for Ross County as a defender. Fraser is a product of Celtic football school, but he made no more than one appearance for the Hoops in the Scottish Premier League. He played his only game for the Scottish giants in a 3-1 win at Inverness on February 9, 2013.
After ending his loan spell with Cowdenbeath, Marcus Fraser signed a deal with Ross County in 2015. Over the years, the defender has established himself as a first-team regular with the Staggies, making 26 appearances in the Scottish top flight last term.
Speaking of his international career, Fraser has five caps for the Scotland U21 team, but he has yet to earn a call-up for the senior team. His main position on the field is a right-back, but he is capable of producing good performances as a centre-back as well. Marcus Fraser was born in Bishopbriggs, Scotland, on June 23, 1994.
Highlighted Team (St Mirren):
St Mirren are Scottish football club that compete in the Scotland Premier League. Founded in 1877, the Buddies play home games at St Mirren Park. The venue, which was built in 2009, can hold up to 8,000 spectators.
St Mirren are well known for their white and black home kit, while black and violet are the dominant colours of their away kit. The Scottish club played their first match against Johnstone Britannia on October 6, 1877, winning the game by one goal to nil. St Mirren have a bitter rivalry with Greenock Morton, and there have always been fireworks in clashes between the two clubs.
The Buddies recorded their biggest win on January 30, 1960, with the team crushing Glasgow University 15-0 in the Scottish Cup. David McCrae is leading the club’s all-time goal-scoring chart with 221 league goals. St Mirren have won the Scotland Premiership three times (1925/26, 1958/59, 1986/87).
