Our prediction for this Ligue 1 match:
After surviving Metz in midweek, PSG will be aiming to keep their 100% record intact when they host Montpellier to their Parc des Princes. Les Parisiens were without injured ace Leo Messi in Wednesday’s clash, and the summer signing is likely to miss the Montpellier game as well. Even though Layvin Kurzawa, Marco Verratti, Colin Dagba, and Juan Bernat miss out as well, the league leaders are seen as favourites to win the match.
The opposition defenders should have pacey wing-back Hakimi at bay as he scored a brace in the triumph over Metz. La Paillade experienced all sorts of problems at the back in a 3-3 draw with Bordeaux, and given their anything but good away record, we are tempted to put our money on the hosts. All Thibault Tamas, Mamadou Sakho, Pedro Mendes, and Ambroise Oyongo are out of contention with injuries.
Highlighted Player (Neymar):
Neymar is a Brazilian football superstar who plays for PSG as a winger. The pacey footballer, who is capable of playing as a centre forward as well, is well known his creativity, passing and finishing. Neymar was born in Mogi das Cruzes on 5 February, 1992 and he began his senior career at Santos. After scoring 54 goals in 103 appearances for the Brazilian outfit, he joined Barcelona in 2013.
The Brazilian ace signed a five-year deal with the Catalan outfit and he has been playing for the La Liga giants ever since. Neymar the 2014/2015 Champions League trophy with Barcelona and that is considered his biggest success. It has to be noted that he clinched the FIFA Club World Cup trophy with Barca as well.
Speaking of his international career, the Barcelona star made his Brazil debut on 10 August, 2010 against USA and it has to be noted that he scored on his debut. In 2013 he won FIFA Confederations Cup with the Brazilian national team. Neymar was born on 5 February, 1992.
Highlighted Team (Montpellier):
Over the years Montpellier have established themselves as a mid-table side in French Ligue 1. Montpellier are considered one of the youngest clubs in France as they were founded in 1974, but it has to be noted that a number of high-profile footballers played for the club in the past. French football legend Laurent Blanc played for Montpellier from 1981-1993 and he scored 76 goals in 24 appearances in the league for the club. Eric Cantona, Roger Milla, Carlos Valderama and Olivier Giroud played in Montpellier’s colors as well, but Pascal Baills is the player with most appearances for the club (429).
La Paillade did remarkably well to win the Ligue 1 trophy in 2012 and that is considered the club’s biggest success. Montpellier won Coupe de France on two occasions (1929, 1990), with the team beating FC Sete and FC Paris respectively in the title games. The team welcome their rivals at Stade de la Mosson and the capacity of the stadium is 32.900. In 1999 Montpellier won the UEFA Intertoto Cup.
