Our prediction for this Bundesliga match:
Union Berlin welcome Arminia Bielefeld to their Stadion An der Alten Forsterei in the Bundesliga round 6. The capital club suffered a 4-2 loss to Borussia Dortmund at the weekend, but despite the defeat they remained in 8th position in the standings. Experienced attacker Max Kruse, who found the net in the Signal Iduna Park defeat, will be the man to watch in the home team, while both Kevin Mohwald and Mathis Bruns are out of contention with injuries.
Die Arminien, on the other hand, are still eyeing their first win of the season. Since Arminia Bielefeld were more than fortunate to hold Hoffenheim to a goalless draw on Matchday 5, we are tempted to put our money on Union Berlin, who are a real force to be reckoned with at home. Edimilson Fernandes is sidelined through illness, while both Lennart Czyborra and Sebastian Vasiliadis miss out with injuries.
Highlighted Player (Marvin Friedrich):
Marvin Friedrich is a product of FSC Guxhagen football school. The German footballer played for the likes of OSC Vellmar, Paderborn and Schalke during his youth career as well before making his senior debut with die Knappen.
Marvin Friedrich scored 4 goals in 30 appearances for Schalke B before he started playing for the senior team. The German defender made his Bundesliga debut on September 13, 2014 in a 4-1 loss to Borussia M’gladbach. Nowadays Friedrich plays for Union Berlin as he signed a permanent deal with the Bundesliga side on July 5, 2019. His main position is centre-back, but he is capable of producing fine performances as both left and right back as well.
Friedrich’s contract with Union Berlin expires on June 30, 2022. The versatile defender has yet to make his debut with the Germany senior team, but he has four caps with Germany U20 and three with Germany U19 respectively.
Highlighted Team (Arminia Bielefeld):
Arminia Bielefeld is a German club founded on May 3, 1905. Die Arminen play home games at Bielefelder Alm. The venue was built in 1926, and it can hold up to 26,515 spectators. Arminia Bielefeld have yet to win the Bundesliga trophy, but they did well to lift the West German Cup title on two occasions (1966, 1974).
Back in 1922 they won the Western German football championship, with the team repeating the success the following year. Arminia Bielefeld wear dark blue shirts when playing at home ground, while white is the dominant colour of their away jersey. In the 2019/20 season Arminia returned to the Bundesliga, where they undisputedly belong.
Bruno Labbadia is considered one of the most famous footballers who played for the club. The ex Bayern Munchen attacker scored 50 goals in 98 appearances in the league for Arminia Bielefeld. Labbadia has two caps for the German national team, and six for the West Germany U21.
