Our prediction for this Europa League match:
After rolling over Genk on the road in their second group game, Dinamo Zagreb will look to give fans yet another reason for celebration when they take on Rapid Wien at Allianz Stadion. The Croatian champions head into the match following a 3-3 draw with Rijeka in the HNL derby, and we are positive that they will stick to their attacking style of play. A man to watch in the away team will be Bruno Petkovic, who scored a brace at the weekend, while defender Dino Peric remains in the recovery room.
The Austrian outfit, on the other hand, aim to make amends for back-to-back losses to Genk and West Ham, and seeing that they will adopt an attack-minded approach this time out, we are positive the visitors will have a number of clear-cut chances to score on the break. The likes of Dibon, Schuster, Strebinger, and Sulzbacher should miss out with injuries for the hosts.
Highlighted Player (Filip Stojkovic ):
Following a successful spell with Serbian giants Crvena Zvezda, Montenegro full-back Filip Stojkovic joined Rapid Wien in 2019. Stojkovic was part of the Crvena Zvezda team that defeated Liverpool in the 2018/19 Champions League campaign, and, no doubt, that is considered one of the biggest successes of his career.
The Montenegro footballer is a product of the Bukovik Razanj youth team, and, in 2006 he was spotted by Crvena Zvezda’s scouts. From 2009 to 2017 Filip played for the likes of Sopot (loan), Banat (loan), Cukaricki, and 1860 Munchen before returning to Stadion Rajko Mitic. Nowadays the pacey full-back plays for both Rapid Wien and the Montenegro national team.
He made his debut for the national team in a 1-0 loss to Turkey in 2016. Since Stojkovic is a footballer of Serbian descent, he has eight caps for the Serbia U21 team. The Rapid Wien defender wears the No. 22 shirt at the Austrian club.
Highlighted Team (Dinamo Zagreb):
Arguably the biggest club in Croatia and one of the most prominent football outfits in the Balkan region, Dinamo Zagreb have won 18 league titles, 11 of which came successively. Dinamo Zagreb have never been relegated to a lower tier of both Croatian and Yugoslav football.
Modri as they are called in Croatia are renowned for their impressive production line of youth footballers. Their highly organised football academy has so far produced world-class players such as Luka Modric, Mateo Kovacic, Marko Pjaca and many others. Dinamo Zagreb play their home matches at the Stadion Maksimir in front of 35,000 people.
The club lacked support during the last couple of seasons due to fans’ disagreement with club management, most notably notorious Zdravko Mamic, who is under investigation for long-lasting corruption, tax evasion and embezzlement. For the first time since 2015, Dinamo Zagreb will have the full support of their most faithful supporters in the Champions League.
