Our prediction for this Premier League match:
Newcastle United play host to Aston Villa at their St. James’ Park in what is expected to be one of the most exciting games of Sunday’s program. The Magpies have been producing fine displays in the Premier League ever since the club chiefs reinforced the squad in the January transfer window, and they head into the match following back-to-back wins over Leeds United (1-0) and Everton (3-1).
One of the men to watch in the home team will be new signing Kieran Trippier, who found the net in the midweek triumph, while important attacker Callum Wilson remains in the recovery room. The Villans, on the other hand, played out a thrilling 3-3 draw with Leeds United on Wednesday evening. Since both sides should go for a win in Sunday’s showdown, we believe that there is a big value in betting on both teams to score. Both Bailey and Nakamba miss out with injuries, while defender Konsa is banned for the visitors.
Highlighted Player (Paul Dummet):
Paul Dummett is a product of Newcastle United’s youth school. His main position is left back, but he is capable of playing as a centre back as well. The defender was born on 26 September, 1991 and he played for the likes of Gateshead and St. Mirren on loan in the past.
Dummett returned to Newcastle United in 2013 and he featured in 18 games for the Magpies in the 2013/2014 Premier League campaign. On the last day of the season, he made a hard tackle on Liverpool attacker Luis Suarez and, in turn received death threats from Uruguay fans on Twitter. The Newcastle United defender scored one goal in 23 appearances for the club in the 2015/2016 Premier League campaign, but he did not help the St. James’ Park outfit avoid relegation to the Championship.
Paul Dummett plays for Wales and he made his debut for the Dragons on June, 2014 against Netherlands. It has to be noted that Dummett won the Scottish League Cup with St. Mirren in the 2012/2013 season.
Highlighted Team (Aston Villa):
Aston Villa is one of the three clubs that dropped to the Championship at the end of the 2015/2016 Premier League campaign. The Villans host their rivals at Villa Park, the stadium that was opened in 1897 and its’ capacity is 42,682. However, it has to be noted that the highest attendance recorded at the stadium was 76,588 when Aston Villa faced Derby County in the FA Cup back in 1946.
Aston Villa’s fiercest rivals are Birmingham City and West Bromwich Albion. Nonetheless, the rivalry between Aston Villa and Wolves and Coventry City is big as well. Aston Villa have won seven First Division (Premier League) trophies, with the team clinching seven FA Cup trophies as well.
The team’s biggest success, though, came in 1982 when they won the European Cup. The Villans defeated Bayern Munich (1-0) in the title game and Peter Withe was named the man of the match.
