Our prediction for this Championship match:
Ashton Gate Stadium will host Tuesday’s Championship game between Bristol City and Coventry City, the two mid-table sides. The Robins have been having their ups and downs of late, with the team beating both Reading and Middlesbrough at home, while losing to Blackpool and Swansea on the road. Bristol City are eyeing their fifth consecutive win on home soil, but the midweek clash will be anything but a walk in the park for the home side.
All Max O’Leary, Matty James, George Tanner, Robert Atkinson, and Andy King are all sidelined with injuries. Coventry City occupy tenth position in the standings ahead of Matchday 34, but they are just three points behind the playoffs berth. Since the Sky Blues aim to move closer to top six, we are tempted to put our money on both teams to score. Gustavo Hamer is banned for the match, while all Matt Godden, Josh Eccles, and Liam Kelly should miss out with injuries.
Highlighted Player (Nathan Baker):
Nathan Baker is a product of Aston Villa football academy. The left-footed defender played 115 games for Aston Villa in the league and it has to be noted that he scored only goal for the club during his spell at Villa Park. Nathan Baker is used as both centre-back and left-back and the 189-cm-tall footballer is very good in the air.
Nathan Baker was born in Worcester, England on April 23, 1991 and he currently plays for Bristol City in the Championship. After ending his loan spell with the Robins, he signed a permanent deal with the club on July 28, 2017 for an undisclosed fee. Nathan Baker has yet to make his debut for England national team, but he has three caps for England U21 team.
Nathan Baker made his debut for the under-21 squad against Iceland back in 2011. The English footballer has a contract with Bristol City which expires on June 30, 2021.
Highlighted Team (Coventry):
Nicknamed the Sky Blues, Coventry City are an English football club that compete in the League One. Coventry City, who were founded on August 13, 1883 as Singers FC, wear sky blue kit when playing on home soil, whilst their away colour is white.
Aston Villa and Leicester City are considered the club’s main rivals, but they have rivalry with fellow West Midlands clubs Wallsall and Burton Albion as well. Coventry City have yet to win the Premier League trophy, but they did well to go all the way in the FA Cup in the 1986/1987 season, with the team beat Charlton Athletic in the two-legged final. They share stadium with Birmingham City, with both clubs playing their home games at St. Andrew’s Stadium.
Built in December, 1906, St. Andrew’s Stadium can hold up to 29,409 spectators. Dion Dublin is one of the most famous Coventry City players, with the legendary centre-forward scoring 61 goals in 145 appearances for the club in the league.
