Our prediction for this Premier League match:
Newcastle and Brighton face each other at St. James’ Park in what is expected to be a close Premier League match. The Magpies aim to build on a 2-0 win over Brentford, with the team eyeing their fifth triumph since reinforcing the squad in the January transfer window. Newcastle are six points clear of the relegation zone, meaning that a win over Brighton will see them move one step closer to securing the elite division survival.
The Seagulls, on the other hand, aim to put an end to their three-game losing run. Brighton are low on spirits ahead of the trip to Newcastle, which is probably the main reason why home win should be considered. January signing Kieran Trippier continues to miss out for the hosts, as well as striker Callum Wilson, while Allan Saint-Maximin is a major doubt. As for the away side, both Mwepu and Webster are out of contention with injuries.
Highlighted Player (Paul Dummet):
Paul Dummett is a product of Newcastle United’s youth school. His main position is left back, but he is capable of playing as a centre back as well. The defender was born on 26 September, 1991 and he played for the likes of Gateshead and St. Mirren on loan in the past.
Dummett returned to Newcastle United in 2013 and he featured in 18 games for the Magpies in the 2013/2014 Premier League campaign. On the last day of the season, he made a hard tackle on Liverpool attacker Luis Suarez and, in turn received death threats from Uruguay fans on Twitter. The Newcastle United defender scored one goal in 23 appearances for the club in the 2015/2016 Premier League campaign, but he did not help the St. James’ Park outfit avoid relegation to the Championship.
Paul Dummett plays for Wales and he made his debut for the Dragons on June, 2014 against Netherlands. It has to be noted that Dummett won the Scottish League Cup with St. Mirren in the 2012/2013 season.
Highlighted Team (Brighton):
Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club were formed in 1901. The Seagulls welcome their opponents at Falmer Stadium and the capacity of Brighton’s home ground is 30,750. The stadium was built in 2008 and it was opened in 2011. The venue is known for commercial purposes as American Express Community Stadium.
Brighton & Hove Albion compete in the Premier League and they play in blue and white stripes. The colour of Brighton’s away kit is green. The club made it to the FA Cup final in 1983, but English giants Manchester United proved to be a big catch for the Red Devils.
Brighton’s main rivals are Crystal Palace and the Seagulls have recorded 35 wins over the Eagles. Frank Stapleton, Martin Chivers, Joe Corrigan, Bobby Zamora, Mark Lawrenson, Bobby Smith, John Crumplin and Frank Worthington are notable footballers who played for Brighton in the past. The Albion is Preston’s yet another nickname.
