Alaves
Real Sociedad and Deportivo Alaves face each other in a small Basque derby at Reale Arena. Following back-to-back wins over Osasuna and Mallorca, La Real suffered a 4-1 defeat to Real Madrid at the weekend. Imanol Alguacil’s troops aim to move closer to the Champions League berth, but Alaves should not be written off just yet. All Nacho Monreal, Carlos Fernandez, Adnan Januzaj, Rafinha, and Ander Barrenetxea continue to miss out with injuries.
El Glorioso, on the other hand, did well to hold Sevilla to a goalless draw in front of home fans, but given their poor away record (1-3-9), we predict that the visitors are going to return home empty-handed. The good news for the visiting side is that midfielder Mamadou Loum is back from suspension, but he is unlikely to help the visitors grab something from the local derby.

David Silva is a product of Valencia’s youth system. Born on 8 January, 1986, the highly rated footballer made his debut in the 2004/2005 campaign and went on to score a total of 21 goals for the Estadio de Mestalla outfit. In 2010, the Spanish midfielder signed a deal with Premier League side Manchester City and he has already won two domestic championships with the free-spending club.
In the 2015/2016 season David Silva and Co. faced Real Madrid in the Champions League semis, but the Spanish giants proved to be a big catch for the Citizens in the two-legged tie. Silva plays as an attacking midfielder, but he is capable of playing as winger or a second striker as well.
He is well known for his possession-retaining qualities and, as a result, he got the nicknames “Merlin” and “El Mago”. David Silva won the 2014 FIFA World Cup trophy with Spain, while winning Euro 2008 and Euro 2012 with La Roja as well.

Alaves is a Spanish football club located in Vitoria-Gasteiz, Alava. The club were founded in 1921 and they play their home games at Estadio Mendizorrotza. The capacity of the stadium is 19,840 and it has to be noted that it is the third oldest stadium in Spanish football. After spending several years in the Spanish Segunda Division, los Babazorros returned to the top flight in 2016.
The color of Alaves’ home kit is blue and white and the club’s local rivals are fellow Basque sides Real Sociedad, Athletic Club, Osasuna and Eibar. Alaves made it to the UEFA CUP final in 2001, but they were beaten by Liverpool 5-4 in a thrilling football clash. Anyhow, that is still regarded as the club’s biggest success. Los Babazorros booked their place in the Copa del Rey quarter-finals on four occasions and they have yet to win the Primera Division trophy.
