Our prediction for this Championship match:
Derby County and Cardiff City go head to head at Pride Park on the last day of the regular season. The Rams failed to secure the Championship survival due to the 21-point deduction, and, as a result, they will compete in the League One next term. Derby aim to, at least, finish the 2021/2022 campaign in style, and they are surely capable of matching the out-of-sorts Bluebirds on home soil.
Wayne Rooney is likely to stick to his rotation policy, with all Thompson, Sibley, and Aghatise pushing for a start. Both Jozwiak and Kazim-Richards remain in the recovery room. The Welsh outfit, on the other hand, collected only one point in total from the previous five league fixtures. The Bluebirds are low on spirits ahead of Matchday 46, which is probably the main reason why home win should be considered. As for the away side, all Joel Bagan, Alex Smithies, Isaac Vassell, and Sean Morrison miss out with injuries.
Highlighted Player (Craig Forsyth):
Craig Forsyth is a left back who is capable of playing as a midfielder as well. The Derby County footballer was born on 24 February, 1989 and he started his youth career at Carlogie Boys Club. Forsyth spent five years in Dundee (2006-2011), but it has to be noted that he played for Montrose and Arbroath (on loan) during his spell at Dens Park.
The Scottish footballer joined Watford in June, 2011 for an undisclosed fee and he did well to score on his debut against Burnley in the opening match of the 2011/2012 Championship campaign. He played 20 games for the Hornets in the 2011/2012 season, but on 19 October, 2012, he was sent on loan to Bradford City.
After ending his loan spell with Bradford, Forsyth signed a loan deal with Derby County on 4 March, 2013 and nine months later he penned a permanent teal with the Rams. The left back made 46 league appearances for Derby County in the 2013/2014 campaign, scoring two goals in the process.
Highlighted Team (Cardiff):
Cardiff City are a Welsh football club that compete in the English second tier (Championship). In 2009 they moved from Ninian Park to Cardiff City Stadium, the venue that officially holds 33,280 spectators.
The Bluebirds played their first ever Premier League match on 18 August, 2013, but they were beaten by West Ham United (0-2) on their debut in the English top flight. However, a week later Fraizer Campbell (two goals) and Aron Gunnarson helped Cardiff City record their first ever win in the Premier League.
The Bluebirds outplayed Manchester City back then, but they eventually dropped to the Championship at the end of the season. Fellow Welsh outfit Swansea City are considered Cardiff’s fiercest rivals and the two teams take on each other in the South Wales derby.
The colour of Cardiff City’s home kit is blue, whilst they wear red shirts and shorts when playing on the travels.
