Our prediction for this Scottish Premiership match:
Motherwell and Hearts go head to head at Fir Park in the Premiership round 37. The Well desperately needed a win against Ross County, and they managed to get one thanks to Kevin van Veen’s goal. Motherwell did well to put an end to their three-game winless run, with the team climbing to the Conference League berth. Since Hearts have little to play for in Wednesday’s clash, home win should definitely be considered.
Nathan McGinley has been ruled out for the rest of the season, whilst aforementioned attacker van Veen is pushing for a start. The visitors, on the other hand, failed to spoil Celtic’s party at Celtic Park on Matchday 36, with the team remaining in third position. Hearts head into the midweek clash with the lack of motivation, which is probably the main reason why home win should be considered.
Highlighted Player (Liam Kelly):
Born in Newport Pagnell, England Liam Kelly is a right-footed midfielder who plays for Coventry City in the League One. Kelly is a product of Milton Keynes Dons football school, but he did not play for the club at senior level. The English footballer started his senior career at Scottish club Kilmarnock, but after making 100 appearances in the league for the Killie, he moved to England, signing a three-and-a-half-year deal with Bristol City.
The English footballer played for the likes of Oldaham Athletic and Leyton Orient as well before joining Coventry City in the summer of 2017. His main position is central midfielder, but he is capable of playing as both defensive and right midfielder as well.
His preferred foot is right. He made his league debut with Coventry City on August 5, 2017 in a 3-0 win over Notts County, while scoring his first goal for the club in a 3-1 win over Stevenage in April, 2018.
Highlighted Team (Hearts):
Founded in 1874, Hearts are professional football club that compete in the Scotland Premiership. The Jam Tarts welcome their rivals at Tynecastle Park Gorgie, the stadium which can hold up to 20,000 spectators.
While the original Hearts strip was all white shirts and trousers with maroon trimmings, the club’s current home kit is all maroon with a white-collar. Hearts have won the Scottish Premier League title four times (1894/95, 1896/97, 1957/58, 1959/60), but they have been in Celtic and Rangers’ shadows in the 21st century. Hibernian are considered the club’s fiercest rivals. The two teams first met back in 1875 on Christmas Day, with Hearts winning the match 1-0. The Tynecastle Park Gorgie recorded their biggest win in 1880, with the team rolling over Anchor 21-0 in the FA Cup.
The club’s heaviest defeat came eight years later as Hearts were beaten by Vale of Leven 8-1 in the Scottish Cup. John Robertson is leading the club’s all-time goal-scoring chart, with the left winger netting 214 goals for the club.
