Our prediction for this Europa Conference League match:
All eyes will be on Stadio Artemio Franchi when Fiorentina and Twente go head to head in the Conference League derby. The Viola kicked off the new Serie A campaign with a hard-fought 3-2 win over Cremonese, with Luka Jovic scoring on his debut. The former Real Madrid attacker will be the man to watch in the home team, while both Castrovilli and Igor should miss out with injuries.
The Reds, on the other hand, faced no difficulties in the double-header with Cukaricki, but Fiorentina will pose a much bigger threat for the Eredivisie side than their previous rivals. Since Twente are not regarded as good travellers, we are tempted to put our money on Fiorentina. All Brama, Staring, and van Leeuwen are out of contention with injuries for the visiting side. The two teams have never met before in European competitions.
Highlighted Player (Erick Pulgar):
Eric Pulgar is a Chilean international who started his senior career at Deportes Antofagasta. Pulgar is a 186-cm-tall midfielder, who is capable of playing as a centre back as well and he is well known for his speed. After making 38 league appearances for the club he joined fellow Chilean outfit Universidad Catolica in 2014.
The deal was confirmed on 28 June, 2014 and the Chilean defender joined los Cruzados for a fee of $ 500 000. In 2015 he decided to move to Europe and he signed a contract with Bologna for an undisclosed fee. The deal was sealed on 20 August. Erick Pulgar represented Chile at the 2016 Copa America, but he made no more than one appearance for La Roja at the tournament in USA.
He came on as a substitute to replace injured midfielder Pablo Hernandez in a 2-0 win over Colombia. It is well known that Chile won the 2016 Copa America, beating star-studded Argentina in the title game.
Highlighted Team (Twente):
Based in the city of Enschede, Twente is a Dutch football club that welcomes their rivals at De Grolsch Veste. The venue was opened on May 10, 1998, and the capacity of the stadium is 30,205 people. The club was founded in 1965 as a merger of Sportsclub Enschede and Enschedese Boys.
The Reds did remarkably well to win the Eredivisie title in the 2009/10 season, with the team finishing the process only one point clear of Dutch giants Ajax. As a result, Twente booked their place in the Champions League group stages. The Reds did well to collect six points in their group, but that did not help them make it to the last 16.
Twente are well known for their red jerseys, but they wear dark blue shirts when playing on the travels. The Reds take on Heracles Almelo in the Twentse Derby. Sander Boshchker is leading Twente’s all-time goal-scoring chart with 653 goals on his account.
