Our prediction for this League 2 match:
Colchester United will be aiming to make amends for back-to-back losses to Swindon and Newport when they face Crawley Town in the League Two round 16. The U’s have a good chance to escape the relegation zone, and they are likely to fight tooth and nail against Crawley. Talented midfielder Daniel Chesters is pushing for a start as Matt Bloomfield should opt to make changes to the team that faced the Exiles at the weekend.
The Red Devils, on the other hand, aim to build on back-to-back wins over Newport County and Mansfield Town. Crawley have been showing signs of improvement of late, but given their poor away record (0-3-4), we believe that punters from all around the globe can find value in betting on draw. Ashley Nadesan, who scored a brace against the Yellows, will be the man to keep an eye on in the away team. Kevin Betsy has no fresh selection worries ahead of the midweek clash.
Highlighted Player (Frank Nouble):
Born in Lewisham, London on September 24, 1991, Frank Nouble is a product of the Chelsea football academy. Despite spending his youth career at the capital club, he did not see any game action with the Blues at senior level. Frank Nouble started his senior career at West Ham United, but he made no more than 13 league appearances for the Hammers.
Nowadays, he plays for Colchester United in the League Two. Frank Nouble, who has eight caps with the England U19 team, made his debut with the U’s on August 4, 2018, in a goalless draw with Notts County. He scored his first goal with Colchester United on September 15, 2018, in a 3-0 victory over Cambridge United.
Nouble’s primary position is centre-forward, but he is used as both left and right winger as well. The 190-cm-tall footballer wears the number 45 jersey at Colchester United, and his preferred foot is right.
Highlighted Team (Crawley):
Crawley Town are an English football club that compete in the League 2. The club was founded back in 1896 and in the 2011/2012 season they secured promotion to the English fourth tier for the first time. The Devils play their home games at Broadfield Stadium, the venue which was built and opened in 1997.
The stadium has a capacity of 6,144 spectators and is owned by Crawley Borough Council. Crawley Town are well known for their red home kit, with the team wearing white shirts and sky blue shorts when playing on the travels. Crawley Town fans consider AFC Wimbledon the club’s biggest rivals, but they have rivalries with Brighton and Swindon Town as well.
In 1959 the Devils won the Metropolitan League Cup, which is considered one of the club’s biggest successes. Crawley Town won the Sussex Professional Cup in 1970, the Gilbert Rice Floodlight Cup in 1980 and 1984, the Southern Counties Combination Floodlight Cup in 1986, and the Sussex Senior Cup in 1990 and 1991.
