Our prediction for this Premier League match:
Newcastle United will look to stay in the Champions League berth when they welcome Fulham to their St. James’ Park in the Premier League round 20. Since the Magpies were eliminated by Sheffield Wednesday in the FA Cup round 3, they will be fully focused on the national championship in the remainder of the season, and they are surely capable of matching the Cottagers on home soil. All Miguel Almiron, Kieran Trippier, and Bruno Guimaraes are back to the starting XI, whereas Matt Targett and Emil Krafth continue to miss out with injuries.
The capital club, on the other hand, have been performing above expectations this season, with the team climbing to seventh place in the standings thanks to three consecutive league wins over Palace, Southampton, and Leicester. Aleksandar Mitrovic is likely to prove a handful for his former teammates, but seeing that Newcastle are a real force to be reckoned with at home, we are tempted to put our money on Eddie Howe’s troops. Neeskens Kebano should be the only absentee in the away side.
Highlighted Player (Jamaal Lascelles):
Born in Derby on November 11, 1993, Jamaal Lascelles is an English footballer who plays for Newcastle United as a defender. Lascelles began his youth career at Nottingham Forest and he continued playing for the Reds on senior level.
After scoring two goals in 32 appearances for Forest, Jamaal Lascelles moved to Newcastle United in 2014 and he has been playing for the Magpies ever since. The 188-cm-tall centre-back has a deal with Newcastle United, which should expire in June, 2023. Jamaal Lascelles made two appearances for England U21, but he has yet to make his senior debut with the Three Lions.
Speaking of his individual honours, the English defender was part of PFA Team of the Year for the 2016/2017 Championship season. Jamaal Lascelles scored three goals in 35 appearances for Newcastle United in the 2017/2018 Premier League season, helping Rafa Benitez’s team secure yet another top flight survival.
Highlighted Team (Fulham):
Fulham are a club from London that play in the Premier League. The capital club dropped to the English second tier at the end of the 2013/2014 Premier League campaign after failing to impress in the elite competition, but managed to return in season 2018/2019.
Fulham were founded in 1879 and they play their home matches at Craven Cottage. Fulham are the oldest-established club from the English capital to have played in the top flight.
Fulham finished the 2008/2009 Premier League campaign in seventh place in the standings and that is considered the team’s biggest success, speaking of their participation in the Premier League.
The Cottagers played in the Europa League twice and they did well to reach the FA Cup final in 1975, but they were beaten by their local rivals West Ham United in the title game (0-2). Chelsea are regarded as Fulham’s bitter rivals as well and the two teams take on each other in the North London derby.
